DMH Jersey Policy

2009-11-23

Due to the continued mis-information and mis-understanding regarding Jerseys, DMH is providing a policy on jerseys for all to read.

  1. Teams are to appoint a parent incharge of jerseys and are to be collected following each game.
  2. The Jersey parent is to care for and wash jerseys on regular basis throughout the season.  Ensure, if drying, to use a low heat setting in the dryer or hang to dry.
  3. Name bars are permitted on jerseys.  Name bars should be sewn on with a light stitch (by hand or by zig-zag or long stitch on a sewing machine) and can be easily removed with a stitch ripper at the end of the season with no evidence of being in place.
  4. Damage to Jerseys due to normal wear and tear will occur (ie. catching on board doors, etc.).  Any holes occurring due to normal wear and tear can be repaired at Dauphin Drycleaners with the bill being covered by DMH.
  5. Damage to Jerseys due to inappropriate storage and care (ie, skate cuts, staining, name bar removal, etc.) will be the responsibility of the player and parent of the jersey.  Costs borne for repair and cleaning will be the responsibility of the player/parent.  If not repairable or removal of stains is not possible, replacement jersey costs are the responsibility of player/parent.
  6. A Team fee of $100 per team is to be paid to Dauphin Minor Hockey as a deposit on jerseys as agreed to at the 2009 Coaches meeting.
